CONGO
The Family of Saint Therese of the Child Jesus started in 2005 at Our Lady of Sorrows Parish in Portland Oregon USA with a group of friends of Deacon An Vu. It was recognized as a Private Association of the Faithful on Dec 8, 2009 by Archbishop John G. Vlazly, Archbishop of Portland in Oregon.

Salisa Bana is a non-profi t, located in Portalnd, Oregon.
Salisa Bana School is located in Kanshasa, the capital of the democratic Re
public
of Congo (DRC). Th is school is built on more than 35 acres and has a
current student body of 255 students. Grades K-8 and 2 classes of high school
that is taught in the evening.
Personel: Th ey have a staff of 12 teachers, including the principle and vice
principle.
Houses: Salisa Bana has three houses, kitchen, bathrooms and showers on
the property. Two of the homes provide a place for our facilities director and
family to live. While the other home provides a place where Teresa Charities
a non-profi t, located in Portland, Oregon, can provide rice, prayer and con
versation
to the most forgotten, senior citizens in the area.
Activities:
Teresa Charities has handed out rice to over 450 seniors in the area. Not only have that, the group also giv
en
those seniors a chance to talk with someone about problems they are facing. Th ey have a chance to share their
love of God with others and always end with a prayer and blessing. Th e group provides education to the children
in the area.
